
Capizzano Selected to Canadian National Team

Team Canada Nations Cup Roster
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Sophomore forward Kristyn Capizzano has been selected to Canada’s National Women’s Development Team for the 2015 Nations Cup taking place from Jan. 3-6, 2015 in Fussen, Germany. Capizzano is one of 22 players on the Team Canada roster.
Before competing in Germany, Capizzano will play three exhibition games with Team Canada in St. Polten, Austria against Hungary (Dec. 30) and Austria (Dec. 31) as part of a pre-tournament camp.
Canada faces Finland on Saturday, Jan. 3 and Russia on Sunday, Jan. 4 in the preliminary rounds. The Gold Medal, Bronze Medal, and fifth-place games will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
The Oakville, Ont. native has experience playing for various levels of the Canadian National Team. She was selected to the 2014 Canadian National Women’s Team Fall Festival in Calgary from Sep. 22-24.
Capizzano competed for Canada in a three-game series against the U.S. National Team in August in Calgary.
The forward also won a gold medal with Canada’s National U-18 Team at the 2013 IIHF Women’s World Championships in Heinola, Finland.
Capizzano has 12 points on seven goals and five assists with the Eagles so far this season.
