
Kent, Skarupa Earn Hockey East Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Junior forward Haley Skarupa was named Hockey East Warrior Player of the Week while freshman forward Kenzie Kent earned Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week as announced by the league on Monday. This is both Skarupa’s and Kent’s first league honor of the year. Overall, eight different Eagles have earned WHEA accolades nine times this season.
Junior forward Haley Skarupa had an eight-point week in two wins against Yale (4-0) and #7 Harvard (10-2). The Rockville, Md. native netted a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's shutout vs. the Bulldogs. In Friday afternoon's 10-2 victory over the seventh-ranked Crimson, Skarupa recorded a single-game career high of six points on two goals and four assists. Skarupa (14-19-33) is second in the nation in points per game (2.36), assists per game (1.36), and tied for second in the country in goals per game (1.00).

Freshman forward Kenzie Kent recorded a career-high four points in BC's 10-2 over #7 Harvard on Nov. 28. Kent scored 25 seconds into the game to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead over the Crimson. The Norwell, Mass. would add another goal and two assists. Kent now leads the Hockey East (second in the country) in points per game by a rookie (1.12) and is tied for sixth in the nation in assists per game (0.88).
Skarupa’s and Kent’s performances helped No. 1 Boston College to its 13th consecutive victory on Nov. 28, matching the program’s longest ever winning streak.
The Eagles (15-0-1, 9-0-0) make the trek up to Orono, Maine for a Hockey East matchup against the Black Bears on Friday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m.
