Women's Singles Draw
After winning the ITA/USTA Northeast Regional Championship on October 21, senior Jessica Wacnik had two and a half weeks to recover and train before the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. The National Indoors will be played November 6-9 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. The tournament serves as the finale of the fall college tennis season. The prestigious event, which can only be reached through a series of tournaments, features a 32-player singles draw and a 20-team doubles draw for both men and women.
Wacnik won the region and will now face competitors from around the country. Draws were released on Monday. Wacnik is ranked No. 29 and will be facing a fellow ACC opponent, Miami’s Roni Yurovsky at 9:00 on Thursday morning. The winner will play again on Friday.
"Jess has worked really hard for this opportunity to play at the National Indoor Championship. It's a privilege to compete against the nation's best players and Jess' prior successes have given her this opportunity," said head coach Nigel Bently.
