Women's Ice Hockey Ranked #1 in USCHO.com Poll

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College women’s hockey has been name the number one team in the country, earning 148 points in the voting, according to the USCHO.com poll released Monday afternoon. This is the first No. 1 ranking in Boston College women’s hockey history.
The Eagles moved up a spot in the poll after remaining undefeated with two wins against Hockey East opponent Providence over the weekend. BC edged Minnesota to top the USCHO.com poll after the Gophers tied and lost to Bemidji State last weekend.
Boston College (7-0-1, 3-0-0 WHEA) is one of two undefeated teams ranked in the top ten of the USCHO.com poll. The other unbeaten program, Quinnipiac (7-0-1), is the fifth-ranked team in the nation.
Minnesota (129), Wisconsin (119), Harvard (107), and Quinnipiac (95) round out the top five teams in the USCHO.com poll.
BC has two Hockey East contests slated for the upcoming weekend, taking on Northeastern on the road on Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. and hosting Vermont at Kelley Rink on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
