Women's Basketball Signs Two Players For 2015 Class

The Boston College women's basketball team received two national letters of intent from recruits for the 2015 class, announced head coach Erik Johnson. BC is eager to welcome forward Mariella Fasoula from Glyfada, Greece and Stephanie Jones from Shelton, Connecticut to the program next season.
"Good point guards and good post players are very rare and in high demand. We are very excited to be adding such quality players and people at both positions,'' said BC head coach Erik Johnson, talking about Fasoula and Jones.
Mariella Fasoula - 6-foot-4 - Forward, Glyfada, Greece
A native of Greece, Fasoula attends the American Community School of Athens ... Prior to living in Greece, she attended Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tennessee ... A member of the Greek National Team for five years ... Plays for Proteas Voulas in the Division 1 League in Greece ... A member of the School International Championship team that place first at the I.S.S.T.S ... Helped Proteas Voulas win three Greek Championships, the Greek Cup and is a three-time MVP ... Averaged 10 points and six rebounds in the Greek Women's Division 1 League and averaged 25 points and 15 rebounds for the Under-18 team.
"Mariella will come to BC with great international experience, ready to make an immediate impact on our inside game,'' said BC head coach Erik Johnson. "She is a gifted passer with a high basketball IQ. Her soft touch along with her physical presence will add a much needed dimension to our program.''
Stephanie Jones - 5-foot-7 - Guard, Shelton, CT
Plays for Adrian Stewart at Loomis Chaffee High School in Connecticut ... Ranked No. 28 by ProspectsNation.com in the Class of 2015 for point guards ... Ranked No. 81 by HoopGurlz ... ... Entering her third season as the team captain ... Averaged 21 points and five assists as a junior ... Reached 2,000 career points as a junior season ... Four-time NEPSAC All-Star ... Plays for the New York Gouchos ... Member of Nike Rose Classic tournament championship team Exodus NYC Spring '14 ... Member of Nike West 4th Street Tournament championship team Summer '13.
"Steph is an excellent on-ball defender and an amazing ball-handler who will push our tempo on both ends of the floor. She brings great energy to the court and will be exciting for Eagle fans to watch for four years,'' said Johnson.
