November 10, 2014 | Women's Hockey
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Senior forward Kate Leary has been named Warrior Hockey East Player of the Week, according to a release by the league Monday afternoon. This is Leary’s first league accolade of her career. This is the fifth time this season, and fourth consecutive week, that an Eagle has earned Hockey East honors.
The Seabrook, N.H. native scored four goals last weekend. Leary netted two goals in each of the Eagles’ victories over Hockey East opponents, including the game-winner in BC’s 6-1 triumph over Northeastern at Matthews Arena on Saturday, Nov. 8. Leary's third and fourth goals came in the Eagles’ 4-2 win against Vermont on Sunday, Nov. 9.
With her four-goal performance last weekend, Leary is now the second leading goal scorer on the Eagles with seven goals on the season.
Leary and the Boston College women’s hockey team are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 15 hosting New Hampshire at Kelley Rink in game one of a home-and-home series.
