Women's Tennis Competes At Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. - This weekend, the women's tennis team competed at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
On Friday, October 3, Katya Vasilyev defeated Princeton's Katrine Steffensen, 7-5, 6-2. Later in the day, in a doubles match, Vasilyev was joined by Emily Safron and the pair was victorious over Emily Hahn and Dorothy Tang of Princeton by an 8-2 margin. Katie Goepel/Caroline Joyce (Princeton) defeated a mixed-team doubles made up of Alison Mills of South Carolina and BC's Heini Salonen, 8-2
Also in Friday action, Kana Daniel of Penn defeated Vasilyev, 7-5, 6-1. Safron won a singles match against Sonya Latycheva of Penn, 7-5, 6-7(1), (10-7).
On Saturday, Rima Asatrian of Columbia defeated Safron, 6-1, 6-2. Emily Safron had a win over Princeton's Katie Goepel 7-6 (5), 6-3
The final day of play at the Princeton Invitational today commenced at 9 a.m. with Boston College doubles taking on Columbia. At 11 a.m., South Carolina/Duke will face Boston College singles.
