The Boston College women's soccer team will host No. 9 Notre Dame on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Newton Soccer Field. The Eagles are now 10-8 overall and 3-5 in the ACC, while the Fighting Irish are 12-4-1 and 7-2 in the conference.
Boston College is coming off a tough two-game road swing. The Eagles lost to Wake Forest, 4-3, despite two goals from Hayley Dowd. On Sunday afternoon, Boston College lost in overtime to Duke, 2-1. Dowd scored the lone goal for BC.
Notre Dame defeated Louisville, 1-0, to gain a berth into the ACC Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The Irish are currently on a five-game winning streak.
BC vs. Notre Dame
• Notre Dame leads the overall series against BC, 11-1.
• BC's lone victory won in Piscataway, New Jersey in the 2003 Big East Championship semifinal. The Eagles won, 2-1.
• This will be Notre Dame's first visit back to Boston College since the 2002 season. The two teams played on October 27 in Newton and the Irish won, 1-0, in overtime.

The Seniors
On Saturday night, the Boston College women's soccer program will honor the three seniors - Emily Hoffend, Alexandra Johnson and Stephanie McCaffrey.
Hoffend, a native of Frisco, Texas, is the ultimate team player - she has been totally committed to the BC program and has done whatever is asked of her in four seasons. A three-time Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree, Emily is also a two-time ACC honor roll student. She has played in 38 games with a career-high of 16 as a senior. Hoffend, who is an officer on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, will graduate with a degree in communications in May.
After not playing in her first two season, Johnson committed her summers to become a key player on the roster. This senior from Westwood took over the starting goalkeeper role in 2013, starting in 16 games. She helped BC advance to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament as she posted two shutouts in four games. This season Johnson is 9-3, has posted five shutouts and has 1.00 goals against average. Johnson, an All-ACC Honor Roll recipient and two-time a Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree, is expected to graduate in May with a degree in political science
A native of Winchester, McCaffrey is one of the most dynamic attackers in the ACC. McCaffrey, who was an NSCAA All-America as a junior, has scored 32 career goals, along with 26 assists for 90 points. She is currently fifth on the all-time goals and assists list and is the fourth player in program history to reach 90 career points. McCaffrey was a first-team All-ACC performer as a junior and was a second team selection in her sophomore season. She was also named to the All-ACC Freshman team in her rookie season. McCaffrey, a three-time Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree, is expected to graduate in May with a degree in from the Carroll School of Management with a degree in finance.
Game Notes
• Boston College has an RPI of 53 this week.
• Sophomore Hayley Dowd now has an ACC leading 15 goals. She has scored at least one goal in the last five games. Dowd has also notched two goals in four games this season. Her 15 goals ranks tied for seventh in the country with six other student-athletes. The five game-winning goals she has scored are 15th in the country.
• BC's offense is ranked fifth in the ACC and 64th in the country.
• Senior Stephanie McCaffrey leads the team in assists with seven. She is fourth in the ACC and 58th in the country in assists.
• Saturday's game vs. Notre Dame marks the third Top 10 team (UVA, FSU, Notre Dame) BC will play this season.
• This marks the 17th consecutive season in which Coach Foley's teams have won 10 or more games.
• This week it was announced that Boston College is fifth in the nation in Graduation Success Rate. Women's soccer is one of 12 teams at BC that received a perfect GSR score of 100.
