Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College senior midfielder Emma Plasteras has been selected to play in the 2014 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Associations (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game, as announced by the organization Wednesday. This is the 10th consecutive season that Boston College has had a representative at the senior game. Senior back Sarah Hospodar has been named as an alternate for the Nov. 22 Senior Game.
“I am thrilled that both Sarah and Emma have been recognized by the selection committee. Being among the best seniors in the county is a honor and a well-deserved recognition. The list of names for the team and the alternates is an extremely impressive quo of players.
“This game has always provided our graduating seniors with a memorable event. I think it is one of the best events that the NFHCA hosts and we have been privileged to have BC representation at it every year,” said head coach Ainslee Lamb.
Plasteras will represent the Eagles (12-5, 3-3 ACC) Saturday, Nov. 22 in College Park, MD along with 37 other student-athletes from around the country. Game time is set for 3 p.m. The North Vancouver, B.C. native is one of nine Atlantic Coast Conference players selected to play in the annual game.
The senior captain has played in 74 games for the Eagles, starting 68 of them. She has tallied 21 points during the 2014 regular season on six goals and a team-leading nine assists. As a junior, Plasteras led the team with 11 goals, 12 assists, 34 points, and four game-winning goals, including the game-winner in overtime in the victory at No. 2 UConn. She also earned Longstreth/NFHCA All-America First-Team honors, as well as Northeast Regional Player of the Year and All-Northeast Region First-Team accolades. She also tabbed First-Team All-ACC honors.

Hospodar is a second-year captain in her senior season. The Wayne, Pa. native has played in 72 games for the Eagles, starting 58. As a junior, she led the backfield with three points and three defensive saves, tied for second in the ACC. Hospodar has earned the Athletics Director’s Award for Academic Achievement twice and was a member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
“I am proud that we have Emma currently to represent BC and hopefully Sarah as a top alternate for the game. They will both represent all of the aspects that BC takes tremendous pride in. They are both excellent ambassadors for Boston College and our team,” said Lamb.
