Women's XC Travels to UVA for ACCs

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College women’s cross country team is heading to Earlysville, Va. to compete in the 2014 ACC Championships this Friday, October 31.
Ten Eagles are competing in this year’s meet, including seniors Madie Davidson and Brittany Winslow, juniors Laura Hottenrott, Megan Ritchie and Danielle Winslow, sophomores Danna Levin, and Megan Young and freshmen Ashbrook Gwinn and Laura Leff. Senior Liv Westphal, who finished third (20:15) at last year’s meet, is also returning to race for the Eagles.
Boston College finished sixth out of 15 teams at last year’s ACC Championship, with a team score of 151. Florida State is the defending champion, with a team score of 52. This year’s host, Virginia (65), finished second followed by Syracuse (108). Liv Westphal was the first Eagle to cross the line, placing third in a field of 140 runners. Three other members of the team placed in the top 40, including Brittany Winslow, who will be competing this year as well.
Other schools competing in this year’s ACC National Championships include Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, UNC, NC State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
The women's 6K will start at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 here.
