October 28, 2014 | Field Hockey
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Field hockey sophomore midfielder Emily McCoy has been named ACC Co-Player of the Week for her performance last Friday in the Eagles' 5-3 win over No. 8 Virginia. This is the Lancaster, Pa. native's first conference honor of her career.
McCoy was an instrumental part of the Boston College offense in the Eagles' 5-3 win over No. 8 Virginia. McCoy started off the scoring for BC with a goal just over a minute into the contest and added an assist on the Eagles' fourth goal to extend BC's lead to two (4-2). McCoy tallied the most points on the team in Friday night's matchup and now has a team-leading 10 goals on the season.
This is Boston College field hockey's second Atlantic Coast Conference accolade of the season. Last week, forward Eryn McCoy won ACC Player of the Week after a seven point weekend after wins against Louisville and California.
Emily McCoy and the Eagles are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. against Harvard.
