Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College field hockey’s sophomore forward Eryn McCoy has been named ACC Player of the Week for her performance last weekend against No. 7 Louisville and California. This is McCoy’s first Atlantic Coast Conference accolade of her career.
McCoy tallied seven points over the weekend to lead Boston College to a 2-0 record with wins over No. 7 Louisville and California. The Lancaster, Pa., native scored both of the Eagles’ goals in the 2-1 victory over the Cardinals, including the game-winning score in a one-on-one situation against Cardinals’ goalkeeper Sydney King in overtime.
McCoy continued her point streak against the Golden Bears on Sunday when she scored Boston Colllege’s first goal and recorded an assist. Her seven points this weekend give her 21 on the season, tied for the most on the team.
Eryn McCoy and the Eagles are back in action at the Newton Sports Complex against eighth-ranked Virginia this Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.
