Westphal Places 4th at Wisconsin Adidas Invite

Madison, Wisc. - The 17th ranked Boston College women's cross country team traveled to the University of Wisconsin Friday, Oct. 17 to compete in the Wisconsin Adidas Invite.
Senior Liv Westphal was the first Eagle finisher with a time of 19:43 in the women's 6K, good for fourth place overall. This was Westphal's fastest 6K time of her Boston College career. Westphal's time was just eight seconds behind first-place finisher Crystal Nelson from Iowa State.
Westphal improved from last year's time on the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course by 27 seconds, when she finished in 19th place at 20:10.
BC's next finisher was junior Laura Hottenrott who crossed the line at 21:06. Junior Danielle Winslow finished shortly after Hottenrott at 21:10. Rounding out the top five Boston College finishers were senior Madeleine Davidson (21:42) and Sarah Gwinn (22:08).
Sophomore Danna Levin finished with a time of 22.31 and sophomore Megan Young finished at 22:38.
Thirty eight teams ran in the highly touted Wisconsin Adidas Invite, including 15 currently ranked in the top 20 nationally. Boston College finished 21st overall as a team with a score of 541.
The Eagles are back in action at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships in Earlysville, Va. on Oct. 31.
