
Women's Tennis Heads To ITA Regional Championship

Chestnut Hill, Mass. -The BC women’s tennis team will travel to New Haven, Conn. on Oct. 16-21 for the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championships hosted by Yale University in the the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. The draw will be made Wednesday. The Eagles have qualified six singles players and three doubles teams, which is the maximum permitted. The only other school to earn this honor is the host school, Yale.
The final round of singles qualifying will take place on Friday starting at 9:00 a.m., with doubles main draw action to follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. In all, two rounds of doubles are slated for Friday while two rounds of main draw singles play are scheduled for Saturday. Later rounds will continue through to Tuesday, when the finals will take place.
Freshman Assiya Dair was ranked as the No. 10 Newcomer/Freshman in the country at the beginning of the season. The tandem of Jessica Wacnik and Lexi Borr were slotted at No. 21 in September. The aforementioned players and their teammates are striving to go deep into this tournament and earn a spot at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships at Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at the beginning of November.
