New Englands Full of PRs for Men's XC

Boston, Mass. – The Boston College men’s cross country team participated in the 2014 New England Championships at the historic Franklin Park course in Boston on Saturday, Oct. 11. All Eagle runners, six in the varsity men’s 8K and five in the junior varsity men’s 8K, recorded personal records at the meet.
Sophomore Tyler Hanson was the Eagles’ top performer of the day, finishing 38th with a time of 25:14. Sophomore James Zingarini was the next BC finisher at 25:20.7. Senior James Newhouse (25.26), freshman Daniel Moverman (25.55), and juniors Nicholas Denari (26.06) and Richard Moschella (26.24) rounded out the BC’s performance.
The Eagles placed 17th in a deep varsity field of 39 teams at New Englands, totaling 407 points.
In the men’s junior varsity race, sophomores Michael Stephens (26:30.9) and David Taranto (26:37.8), and freshmen Jack O’Reilly (26:40.3), Joseph Yuengert (26:43.5) and Philip Joseph (26:55.5) all clocked personal bests.
The men’s cross country team is back in action at the ACC Championships in Earlysville, Va. on Oct. 31.
