Newton, Mass. - The ninth-ranked Boston College field hockey team is looking to improve on a three-game winning streak when the Eagles (7-1, 1-0 ACC) host No. 2 Maryland (8-0, 1-0) on Friday evening at the Newton Campus Field Hockey Complex. The game begins at 7 p.m.

The Eagles have yet to earn a win over the Terps in the 10 meetings between the two squads. Last year, they took an early 3-0 lead before Maryland scored seven straight goals to take back control. Current junior midfielder Katlyn Soucy notched two goals in the contest and classmate Emma Plasteras tallied two assists. Senior midfielder Nicole Schuster recorded an assist on the Eagles' second goal - a corner - and scored the final goal of the game off a corner attempt.
BC Notes:
• Senior midfielder Paige Norris was named ACC Player of the Week for assisting on the game-winning goal against SU and tallying an assist on an insurance goal moments later. She also scored a goal and tallied an assist in BC's 2-0 shutout of Providence on Sunday.
• For the second week in row, a field hockey player earned Eagle of the Week honors as Norris captured the honor on Tuesday and Plasteras took it the week before.
• The Eagles are third in the ACC in scoring average, tallying 3.88 goals per game, and tied for third in goals (31) and rank fourth in shots (171). Plasteras is tied for fourth in the league for points (18) and ranks fifth in shots (29). She and Norris are tied for the team lead in assists with six, ranking them fourth in the ACC. Freshman Eryn McCoy and Plasteras lead the team with six goals are tied for fifth in the league. Sophomore Leah Settipane leads the ACC in saves (50) and saves per game (6.25).
Maryland Notes:
• Jill Witmer leads the team with 19 points, recording a team-high seven goals and adding five assists.
• Maryland leads the ACC in scoring average (5.62), shots per game (23.75), goals (45) and assists (35). Witmer is tied for second in the league in points and tied for third in goals. Anna Dessoye is tied for the conference lead with eight assits while goalie.
