MXC Opens Season with Fourth Place Finish at UMass Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. -The Boston College men's cross country team finished fourth out of six teams at the UMass Invitational in Amherst on Saturday morning. The team scored a combined 85 points and had five runners finish in the top 25 in the field of 65.
Freshman Brian McDavitt led the Eagles and finished fifth overall with a time of 19:32.36 in his Boston College debut. Classmate Tyler Hansontook second for BC and 16th overall with a time of 19:49.23.
The top five was rounded out by freshmen Kevin Sullivan (19:50.58), James Zingarini (19:55.99), and Joseph Arquillo(20:04.86).
Connecticut won the invitational with a team score of 63.
The Eagles will be back in action Sept. 21 at the Iona Meet of Champions in Bronx, N.Y.
