MEDFORD, Mass. – The men’s track team scored wins in the 60m, 1000m, mile, and high jump as the team competed at the Tufts Cupid Challenge on Monday.
The Eagles competed in the meet after BU’s Valentine Invitational was cancelled last weekend due to the blizzard that struck the Northeast.
Senior Jordan Hamm’s strong performance in the mile (4:13.73) was good for a first place finish and an IC4A qualifying mark while Jack Linehan (4:16.54) and Collin Fedor (4:17.34) finished second and third respectively in the mile with IC4A qualifying marks.
Sophomore Jonathan Vaughn took first in the 60m with a mark of 7.09, a career best and the second best mark in the event in team history. Vaughn also competed in the 200m and finished with a mark of 23.66.
The Eagles claimed another IC4A qualifier as junior Joseph McConaughy scored a victory in the 1000m with a mark of 2:30.87, the third best performance of his career in the event.
Freshman Mitchell McGinty tallied a first place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.93m (6’4”). McGinty also competed in the 60m hurdles and finished 10th with a mark of 9.87.
The Eagles will be back in action on Feb. 21-23 at the ACC Indoor Championships in Blacksburg, Va.
