Women's Basketball Takes On UNC-Wilmington Tonight at 6

The Boston College women's basketball team arrived in Cancun late Turesday afternoon. The team took to the practice court for a light workou before sitting down to an early Thanksgiving meal with family and friends at the Central Market Restaurant to end the evening.
The second day in Cancun will have the team meet at 10:30 a.m. for a group event followed by practice at 4 p.m. The team will attend the finals of the men's tournament tonight between Wisconsin and West Virginia.

BC vs. UNC Wilimington
• This is the second meeting between Boston College (2-2) and UNC-Wilmington. • The two teams met at Conte Forum on Dec. 19, 2010. BC defeated UNC-W, 85-55, as Carolyn Swords had 23 points and six boards and Stefanie Murphy added 14 points.
Team Notes
• Senior Kristen Doherty surpassed the 1,000 point scoring mark when she hit two free throws in the 16th minute of the game. Doherty finished the game with 19 points and now has 1,018 points. She passed the 500 rebound mark in the loss to BYU on Nov. 16. Doherty had 15 points and 12 boards in the loss. Doherty is fifth in the league in free throw percentage at 92.6%. The guard from Holtsville, NY is shooting 26-for-28 and has been perfect in three-of-four games this season.
•Junior transfer student Lauren Engeln, who had not played a game since the 2011-12 season. Is running the point for BC. In the win over FIU, Engeln had a career-high seven assists, zero turnovers in 24 minutes of action.
• BC has shot 21-for-41 from the 3-point line (51.2%), while holding opponents to 34.3 percent from the arc. Currently, No. 2 in the ACC in three-point field goal percentage.
• In the last two games, Nicole Boudreau is 9-for-11 (81.8%) while Kelly Hughes is 6-for-12 (50%). Senior Kristen Doherty is 3-for-5 for 60 percent from the arc.
• The Eagles are fifth in the ACC in free throw percentage. Kristen Doherty leads the team and is fifth in the conference with a 92.9%. from the charity stripe. •

BC is coming off an, 89-69, victory over FIU on Thursday, Nov. 21. Senior Kristen Doherty led BC with 19 points, while sophomore Nicole Boudreau had 14 points. Freshman Kelly Hughes had 12 points while BC shot a season-high 52.5 percent from the floor. The Eagles led 51-32 at the half and shot 63.3 percent from the floor. BC finished the game with 20 assists and just 11 turnovers.
