The Eagles are coming off two 6-1 conference victories over the weekend against Vermont and Northeastern. Junior forward Emily Field led the way for the Eagles with a six-point weekend (4-2-6). The Littleton, Mass. native scored the first goal in each game, and provided a boost on special teams with a power-play goal and a short-handed goal. She was named Warrior Hockey East Player of the Week for her performance. Graduate student Corinne Boyles started between the pipes and made 30 saves in each game. With her .968 save percentage over the weekend, the Wheaton, Ill. Product earned WHEA Defense Player of the Week.
BC has a 16-3-3 all-time record against Quinnipiac, who is off to one of the most successful starts in program history. The Bobcats, who are currently ranked No. 7 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 9 in the USA Today / USA Hockey Magazine Poll, achieved their highest ever national rankings this season. The team sits at 8-1-3 and is tied for second in the nation in scoring defense (1.00 goal/game). They are led by netminder Chelsea Laden who ranks second in the country in goals against average (0.85), third in save percentage (0.957) and first in shutouts (5). Quinnipiac is coming off a 0-0 tie against Yale in which the Bobcats took 44 shots.
Princeton is riding a three-game winning streak and most recently beat Brown 5-2, in which Rose Alleva scored two games for the Tigers. BC has a 1-15-6 all-time record, but has only played the Tigers four times under Coach Crowley (1-1-2). The last matchup came on Nov. 25, 2011at Kelley Rink and resulted in a 5-1 BC victory. Dru Brurns led the way for the Eagles with four points (one goal, three assists).
After the weekend series against Quinnipiac and Princeton, BC will get a week off before a home-and-home series against UConn. The first game is at UConn on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2p.m. and the second game is at home on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.
