McKenzie Meehan Named To CoSIDA All-Academic Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College forward McKenzie Meehan was named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District 1 women's soccer team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, as announced on Thursday.
To be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.3 GPA while being a meaningful contributor on the field in at least her second year at the school.
The Eagles sophomore scored two goals on Thursday night to give BC a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Syracuse in the final regular season game. Meehan has scored two or more goals in five games this season.
She is currently leading the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring with 35 points. She also leads the conference in goal scored with 17. Meehan is also 11th in the country in goals scored and leads the conference in game-winning goals (7).
Meehan earned the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement and was named to the All-ACC honor roll as a freshman.
Boston College is currently 10-9-1 overall and finished sixth in the ACC regular season standings. The Eagles will play at No. 3 North Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. The will be live on ESPN3.
