Men's Tennis Falls to No. 5 Virginia

Charlottesville, Va. - The Boston College men's tennis team lost to fifth-ranked Virginia, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center. The Eagles (4-7, 0-5 ACC) took number one doubles from the Cavaliers (13-1, 3-0 ACC).
Senior Akash Muppidi put in a strong showing in No. 1 singles against 94th-ranked Alex Domijan with consecutive 6-4 sets. Muppidi and doubles partner Alex Skinner earned an 8-2 victory in the No. 1 spotover 10th-ranked duo Courtney and Jenkins.
Sophomore Michael McGinnis and freshman Matt Wagner played the 30th-ranked pair, Justin Shane and Philippe Oudshoom tough on court three, but fell, 8-5. McGinnis also put up a battle on single court five against Oudshoom, but lost, 6-1, 7-5.
The Eagles take the court again Wednesday, March 21 at 6 p.m. against Harvard.
