CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse squad heads across state lines to take on Connecticut in their first of two, back-to-back road games on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 3 p.m.

Boston College Notes
• BC is currently 2-1 on the season. The Eagles defeated Hofstra, 12-10, in the team’s home opener on Saturday, Feb. 25 after falling to No. 12/12 Syracuse, 23-12, on Feb. 21.
• The Eagles are currently ranked 17th in the nation according to the IWLCA coaches’ poll released on Feb. 27, maintaining the spot they were tabbed at in the preseason. In the latest deBeer women's media poll, BC is now ranked at No. 14.
• Boston College holds a 2-0 record so far this season when scoring first. The Eagles are also undefeated when they hold the lead at halftime.
• BC is currently nationally ranked in the top 30 for five statistical categories. The team is ranked 13th in ground balls per game (18.67), 19th in points (51.0), 26th in scoring offense (13.33) and draw controls (13.67) and 27th in win percentage (0.667).
• Freshmen Mikaela Rix and Covie Stanwick have started strong in 2012. Rix, who has registered a hat trick in each of the team’s games so far this season, leads the Eagles with 10 goals, while Stanwick has a team best 11 total points (6 goals, 5 assists).
• Rix and Stanwick are both nationally ranked in the top 25 in a category for an individual, as Rix is ranked 23rd in goals (10.0) and Stanwick is ranked 23rd in assists (5.0).
• With her two goals against Hofstra, captain Kristin Igoe currently has 126 goals and 166 points during her career at The Heights. She is just four goals and five points away from moving into fifth place on BC’s all-time records list in those respective categories.
• Junior Brooke Blue and senior captain Brittany Wilton have added to the offensive attack for the Eagles, registering eight and six points, respectively, so far.
Scouting Connecticut
• UConn is currently 2-0 overall in 2012. The Huskies defeated Iona, 10-7, in the team’s season opener on Feb. 18, before beating Quinnipiac, 18-6, on Feb. 25.
• The Huskies returned eight starters from the 2011 squad that went 9-7.
• UConn junior goalkeeper Brittney Testa has taken home the award as the BIG EAST's top defensive player for two consecutive weeks. Testa has stopped 22 shots while allowing just 13 goals for an impressive 6.50 goals against average so far in 2012. She leads the BIG EAST Conference with a .629 save percentage.
• M.E. Lapham and Kiersten Tupper lead the UConn offensive effort. Lapham has tallied a team-best eight goals and 11 total points, while Tupper leads the team with five assists and has nine points overall.
Series History
• Connecticut currently leads the all-time series, 7-6, against Boston College. If BC should win Wednesday’s game, the series would be tied for the first time since 2005.
• The Huskies dominated the series from 2004-07, winning five consecutive meetings, but the Eagles have been victorious in the schools’ two most recent clashes, including an 11-8 win on March 7, 2011.
