Kristie Mewis Called Into U.S. National Team Camp

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College junior midfielder Kristen Mewis was one of 29 players called into a nine day training camp from Jan. 7-15 for the U.S. National Team at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. The camp is preparation for the 2012 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament which will be from Jan. 19-29 in Vancouver, Canada. . The US National Team head coach Pia Sundhage will chose 20 players for the Olympic Qualifying roster. All 29 players called into the nine day camp participated in a training session in December at the Home Depot Center.
A 2011 All-ACC first team selection, Mewis led Boston College in scoring with 22 points, eight goals and six assists. A native of Hanson, MA, Mewis was an NSCAA Regional first team selection and NSCAA All-American third team. She was also a Soccer America MVP second team this past season.
