Lacrosse Nabs Two Spots on IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Hannah Alley and Kristin Igoe, two recent Boston College graduates, represented BC lacrosse on the 2011 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll, according to an announcement made on September 2.
Alley started all 19 games for BC in 2011. During her senior season, she recorded 24 goals and three assists for 27 points. Of those 24 goals, the Illinois native notched her personal single-game high of four in the team's contest on March 17 against Harvard. In 2011, Alley received the Boston College Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement and was named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
Igoe, who also started all 19 games for the Eagles in 2011, will return to the squad in 2012 as a graduate student. As a senior, she led the team in goals (44), points (62) and caused turnovers (33). She earned both IWLCA and WomensLax.com All-America First-Team honors. In addition, Igoe was named to the 2011 ACC All-Tournament team, as well as the 2011 All-ACC Team and the All-ACC Academic Team. She also received the BC Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement. The IWLCA honored 187 student-athletes from 65 different Division I institutions on the 2011 Academic Honor Roll. All student-athletes were nominated by their schools for having achieved at least junior status academically and earning at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average. Among the 187 student-athletes, 33 were members of teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament.
BC begins its 2011 fall exhibition schedule on Sunday, Oct. 2 with an all-day tournament hosted by Harvard.
