CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team has moved up in the national polls once again. This week, the Eagles jumped from No. 10 to No. 8 in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, according to an announcement made Tuesday.
The Eagles two-spot bump comes after an exciting, 1-0 road victory against cross-town rival No. 11 Boston University on Friday, Sept. 9.
Five of the six ACC field hockey programs are nationally ranked, with North Carolina holding onto the No. 1 spot and Maryland at No. 3. Duke and Virginia are currently ranked sixth and tied for 17th, respectively, while Wake Forest dropped out of the polls this week.
Next Up: Boston College is slated to host No. 3 Maryland in the squad's first ACC matchup of the 2011 season on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. The Eagles will then travel to Connecticut to take on the No. 4 Huskies on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.
