Chestnut Hill, MA - The Boston College women's soccer program is paying close attention to the 2011 World Cup over in Germany. The Eagles staff and players are enjoying watching 2006 graduate Laura Georges on the field for the French National Team.
Georges, who graduated in 2007 with a degree in marketing, is a starting defender for France. France opened the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Nigeria. The team will now play on Thursday, June 30 against Canada in Bochum, Germany at 12 p.m. The game can be viewed on ESPN3.com or ESPN.
While at Boston College, Georges was a Hermann Trophy Finalist and a two-time NSCAA All-American third team honoree. She was also the ACC's Defender of the Year in 2006.
