Carolyn Swords, Stefanie Murphy Named To All-Jesuit Team

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College seniors Carolyn Swords and Stefanie Murphy were named to the 2010-2011 National All-Jesuit Basketball team, as announced by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight today.
Swords earned first team honors, while Murphy was named to the honorable mention team.
The Eagles 6-foot-6 center is a two-time honoree to the All-Jesuit Team. Swords, who was recently named to the WBCA State Farm Division 1 All-America honorable mention team, averaged career-highs this season in points (17.3 ppg.), points (579) and rebounds (9.5 apg.).
An All-ACC first team honoree, Swords led the country in field goal percentage for the third straight season (71.4 %). She was third in the ACC in scoring and No. 1 in rebounding and field goal percentage.
A Sudbury, Mass. native, Swords recorded a single-season career-high 16 double-doubles and set a new program record with 46 in her four years. Swords' became the second player in program history to reach 2,000 points as the center. She was the first play in program history to reach 1,000 rebounds and ended her four years with 1,159 boards. Swords' is also the all-time leader in blocks at BC.
Murphy, an All-ACC third team selection, also averaged career-highs in points per game (15.3 ppg.), points scored (505 points), rebounds (261), and assists (63) and three-pointers made (20). She had a career-high 12 double-doubles this season.
A native of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Murphy is fourth on the all-time scoring list with 1,722 points and second in rebounds with 937 boards. She finished her career with over 200 assists and shot 50 percent from the floor in four years.
