Field Hockey Wraps Up Season At Team Banquet

Chestnut Hill, MA - The Boston College field hockey team held the 2010 team banquet on the campus of Boston College on Saturday, April 16. The Eagles celebrated a successful 12-7 season and gave out a number of team awards and honored the senior class.
Senior Janna Anctil received the Coaches Award for her overall play and dedication to the Boston College program. Anctil, who was earned the ACC Academic Scholar Athlete in field hockey earlier this year, finished her career at BC seventh on the all-time goal scoring list (34 goals) and fifth in most points in a single season (92). She also had 14 goals last season, which is good for eighth on the single season goal scoring list.
Anctil also earned All-ACC Tournament team honors and the ACC All-Academic team.
The Senior Award went to Hannah Mulvey, a freshman from Milton, Ma. The award is granted to a team member who provides a positive contribution to the team philosophy. Mulvey is a first year player who saw action in four games on defense.
Jenny Raftery, a graduate student, received the Players Award. The award is given to a team member who exemplifies an all-around scholar-athlete at Boston College. Raftery, a native of Boxborough, Ma., played in all 19 games for the Eagles this past season.
She also earned a spot on the NFHCA National Academic Squad this past season.
