Cary, N.C. - The Boston College women's tennis team was handed a loss by NC State in the opening round of the ACC Championship on Thursday afternoon at Cary Tennis Park. The ninth seeded Eagles (9-14, 3-8 ACC) were defeated by eighth-seed Wolfpack (15-7, 5-6 ACC), 4-0.
The Eagles lost a tough doubles point to fall behind, 1-0. On court four of singles play, Joelle Kissell would defeat Corning, 6-4, 6-3, before the nation's 31st-ranked player, Bhambri, downed Kelleher, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1 singles to put the Wolfpack up, 3-0.
