The No. 14 Boston College lacrosse team will travel to Vermont on Sunday, April 17, to take on the Catamounts of the America East Conference. The Eagles most recently defeated rival BU, 10-7, while Vermont lost 12-13 to UMBC.
Boston College holds a 12-6 series lead over Vermont, winning last time out, 14-10. With the win over BU, the Eagles improved to 9-5 overall and remain at 1-4 in the ACC while Vermont is 7-7 on the season and 1-3 in league play.
The Eagles' No 14 ranking is the second highest ranking for the BC program, reaching No. 12 in 1994's final BRINE/IWLCA poll.
Junior Brittany Wilton leads the Eagles in assists and draw controls with 13 and 73. Wilton's 73 draw controls places her tied for first on BC's single season draw control leaders. Senior Kristin Igoe leads BC in goals (34), points (45) and caused turnovers (26), while freshman Moira Barry is second on the team in goals scored with 30. The Eagles also continue to get strong performances from sophomore Brooke Blue (23 goals), senior Hannah Alley (19 goals, 15 caused turnovers) and senior Jill Amo (12 assists).
Boston College's matchup with Vermont Sunday is the last regular season game for BC before the Eagles head south to Cary, NC to begin the ACC Championship, Thursday April 21.
