Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College sophomore Kristen Mewis was one of 29 players named to the U.S. Women's National Team training camp by head coach Pia Sundhage this afternoon. The camp will take place in West Palm Beach, Florida on April 18 through May 6.
This is the second time the Eagles midfielder has been called into training with the full women's national team. Mewis, a native of Hanson, MA, helped lead Boston College to the College Cup Final Four this past season. She was the Eagles second leading scorer with 10 goals and 14 assists for a career-high 34 points.
Mewis was a Hermann Trophy Top 15 semifinalist, an All-ACC first team and NSCAA All-American first team honoree.
The camp is preparation for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany this summer.
