Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College senior Kristin Igoe has been named to the 2011 Tewaaraton Award watch list as announced earlier this month. The Tewaaraton Award is given annually to the nation's top female and male collegiate lacrosse player.
Igoe is the first player in the history of the Boston College program to be named to the list.
The list is a collection of the top lacrosse players across all three divisions of college lacrosse and is the early hopefuls for the 2011 Tewaarton Trophy. Watch list nominees are screened and selected by two Selection Committees. These committees are made up of college coaches, one committee for the men and one committee for the women.
The award will be presented on June 2, 2011 at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
The Framingham, Mass., native leads the Eagles this season through nine games in goals scored with 27 and in points with 36. Igoe is currently in seventh place on BC's all-time career goals list with 102, and in eighth place on the all-time career points list at Boston College with 132.
Through two Atlantic Coast Conference games, Igoe currently ranks second among the ACC leaders in goals per game and third in points per game this season.
Igoe and the No. 17/19 Eagles will travel to North Carolina to face the No. 5/6 Tar Heels Saturday, March, 26 at 1:00 p.m.
