The Boston College women's basketball team will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday to battle the Wolfpack at 7 p.m. The Eagles are now 18-9 on the season and 5-7 in the conference while NC State is 12-15 and 3-9 in the ACC.
BC is coming off a victory over Virginia, 73-50, on Sunday, Feb. 20 at John Paul Jones Arena. It was the first win for the Eagles over the Cavaliers in five games. Sophomore Kerri Shields led the Eagles with 17 points, while Carolyn Swords notched her ACC leading 12th double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
NC State is coming off a stunning victory over No. 13 North Carolina, 88-72, behind 23 points from Amber White.

NC State leads the head-to-head series against Boston College, 6-6.
BC defeated NC State, 77-66, earlier in the season. Carolyn Swords had 15 points and 19 rebounds in the win. Prior to this season the Wolfpack have won the last two games, including a 63-57 victory BC at the ACC Tournament semifinal game last year.
OFFENSIVE MINDED
The Boston College women's basketball team is averaging a program high 79.4 points per game this season. The Eagles highest scoring season was in 1986-87 when the team averaged 74.1 points per game. The Eagles have scored 80 or more points in 16 games this season. They have reached 90 in four games and 100 once in the overtime victory against Penn State.
BC is one of the top scoring offenses in the country at No. 9. The Eagles are second in the ACC, behind Miami (80.3 ppg). BC has been ranked in the Top 12 in scoring offense in the country since the start of the season. In Dec., the team was ranked first for three straight weeks.
RISING ROOKIES
Boston College freshman guard Kristen Doherty is one of most consistent players on the roster this season. The Eagles rookie is averaging 9.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. She also leads the team in steals with 59. It is the most steals by a BC player since Aja Parham finished the 2005-06 season with 67.
Doherty is currently 47th in the country and fourth in the ACC in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8). Among the ACC freshmen, Doherty is fifth in scoring and rebounding, first in steals and second in assists.
Katie Zenevitch is currently averaging 5.1 points and 4.0 rebounds while averaging 14.5 minutes off the bench for BC. Zenevitch had nine points and seven boards in the win over Virginia on Sunday, Feb. 20. Against Miami, Zenevitch notched 12 points, while shooting 3-for-3 from the three-point line and grabbed four boards. Zenevitch is shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and a sizzling 46.9 from the three-point line.
The Eagles forward is sixth in rebounding among all the ACC rookies, fourth in 3-point field goal percentage and 12th in free throw shooting (72.2%).
THIS WEEK
Senior Carolyn Swords was named to the Jesuit College Team as she notched two double-doubles last week against Miami and Virginia. Swords averaged 18.5 points and 11.5 rebounds as the Eagles went 1-1 over the week.
Senior Stefanie Murphy is on a hot streak at the foul line. The Eagles forward is 15-for-15 in the last five games. She is 28-for-29 in the last seven games. She is shooting 82.8 percent from the charity stripe, enough for third in the ACC and 58th in the country.
Freshman Katie Zenevitch averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games last week. The Eagles forward hit 4-of-5 from beyond the arc and shot 63.6 percent from the field last week.
GAME NOTES
• Senior Carolyn Swords is just 44 points away from becoming the second all-time scorer in the BC program.
• Boston College has won the battle of the boards in 21 of 27 games this season. In the win over Virginia on Sunday, Feb. 20, BC grabbed 15 more rebounds than Virginia. The Eagles had 24 boards at the half.
• Stefanie Murphy is just seven rebounds away from moving into the second spot on the all-time rebounding list.
• Freshman Kristen Doherty leads BC in steals with 59.
• The team is averaging 18.1 assists per game. The Eagles had 22 helpers vs. Virginia.
• Senior Jaclyn Thoman has 490 career assists, for sixth on the all-time list. She also has 138 helpers this season for a new single season career-high.
• Kerri Shields has 73 three's this season. She broke the sophomore record of 62 three's in single season held by Mickel Picco `10.
• Carolyn Swords, Jaclyn Thoman, Stefanie Murphy and Kerri Shields have started every game this season. Freshman Kristen Doherty has started 26 of the 27 games.
• Boston College has scored 80 or more points in 16 games this season. The Eagles are 14-2 in those games. The Eagles have notched 90 more points three times this season, including a 113-104 overtime victory Penn State on Dec. 2.
• The Eagles will end the regular season on Sunday, Feb. 27 vs. No. 17 Maryland at 1 p.m. Come early to help salute the senior class - Carolyn Swords, Stefanie Murphy and Jaclyn Thoman.
