Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College women’s ice hockey team retained its No. 4 ranking in the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls this week, after sweeping Hockey East rival Northeastern, 3-1 and 4-1, in a home-and-home series last week.
The top five schools in each poll were unchanged by name. Wisconsin remained No. 1 for the ninth straight week.
Spots five through 10 were jumbled on the USCHO poll. The biggest movers were Mercyhurst to No. 7, up two spots, Minnesota-Duluth, who moved down two places to No. 8. No. 6 North Dakota and No. 9 Harvard improved by one rank.
USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine saw No. 2 Minnesota switch with No. 3 Cornell. Mercyhurst was the biggest climber, improving from No. 9 to No. 7, while Minnesota-Duluth and Northeaster both fell two spots to No. 8 and No. 10, respectively. North Dakota improved by one place to No. 6, as did Harvard to No. 9.
Boston College fell to Quinnipiac, 2-1, in overtime last night, but resumes play on Friday, Nov. 25 versus Princeton at 3 p.m. and travels to Brown on Sunday at 2 p.m.
