Women's Basketball Goes West

The Boston College women's basketball team will head west to Tempe to play Arizona State University on Sunday, Nov. 20 ( 4 p.m.). The Eagles have never play the Sun Devils or a game in the state of Arizona.
The last Pac-12 team the Eagles played was California in the 2009 season at the Sun N' Surf Tournament in San Diego. BC defeated the Golden Bears, 81-69, behind 17 points and 15 rebounds by Carolyn Swords. Then freshman Kerri Shields had 11 points in the game.
LAST TIME OUT
Boston College (1-1) is coming off a tough road loss to No. 15 Rutgers, 74-58, on Wednesday night. The Eagles were led by sophomore center Katie Zenevitch with 15 points, while sophomore Tessah Holt added 12 and forward Kristen Doherty notched 10 points.
TEAM NOTES:
• BC opened the season with a win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 14. Sophmore Shayra Brown led the team with 19 points and seven boards.
• Junior transfer Alyssa Fressle earned her first start as an Eagle against Rutgers.
• The Eagles went 13-for-13 from the foul line against Rutgers.
• Junior Kerri Shields leads all teammates in career starts with 36.
• Kerri Shields leads the team in minutes played with a 31.5 average while Katie Zenevitch is second at 26.5 minutes played.
