No. 4 Women's Soccer To Host Yale Tonight

Chestnut Hill, MA - The No. 4 Boston College women's soccer team will host Yale University tonight at the Newton Soccer Field at 7 p.m. The Eagles are currently ranked fourth in the country by the NSCAA and Soccer America and fifth by Top Drawer Soccer.
Boston College is 5-0-1, with the tie coming against No. 2 Stanford University in the season opener on August 20th. The Eagles have defeated Hofstra, Central Connecticut State, Boston University, Brown and Fairfield. After tonight's home match vs. Yale, the Eagles will hit the road for four consecutive games. BC will travel to New Jersey to start the four-game road trip against Big East foe Rutgers (Sunday, Sept. 19). The ACC competition will then begin in Chapel Hill, North Carolina when the Eagles take on the No. 1 Tar Heels on Thursday, Sept. 23, followed by a Sunday, Sept. 26 match at NC State. The road trip will end at Virginia on Sunday, Sept. 26.
Yale is currently 1-3-0 with losses against Illinois, Connecticut and Duke. The Bulldogs only victory was a stunning 1-0 upset of Penn State in the season opener. Boston College and Yale have not played since the 1992 ECAC Tournament . Yale defeated BC, 2-1 on Nov. 9, 1992.
Corner Kicks:
BC's sophomore Victoria DiMartino earned a spot on Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week after notching four goals in two games last week. She now has a team-high seven goals and is sixth in the country in goals scored ... The Eagles have out-scored their opponents 16-2 ... Sophomore Kristie Mewis has a solid week as the Eagles defeated Brown and Fairfield. She notched one goal and two assists vs. Brown followed by an assist in the 2-0 win over Fairfield. She is the second leading scorer with three goals and five assists for 11 points ... Goalkeeper Jillian Mastroianni is fourth in the country in goals-against-average (0.165) and second in save percentage (.957) ... BC's team goals-against-average is ninth in the country while the scoring offense is ranked 21st.
