Field Hockey Ranked Ninth in Kookaburra/NFHCA Preseason Poll

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The 2010 Boston College field hockey team was ranked ninth in the nation in the Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Preseason Poll, as announced today.
Boston College finished last season at ninth after going 13-7 on the season, with ACC and NCAA tournament berths. It was the Eagles' first trip to the NCAAs since 2005.
All ACC teams were in the top ten, with North Carolina at first, Maryland at second, Virginia at third, and Wake Forest at sixth. Duke came in behind BC at 10th. BC was recently ranked fifth in the ACC.
BC will open the season on the road at UMass on Friday, August 27 at 2 p.m.
