Women's Soccer Ranked Seventh By NSCAA

The Boston College women's soccer team has been ranked seventh in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2010 preseason as announced today.
Boston College, who just received a second place ranking in the Atlantic Coast Conference, is one of seven ACC teams placed in the top 25 by the NSCAA. Four ACC teams managed to crack the Top 10 - North Carolina (1), Florida State (6), BC (7) and Wake Forest (10).
The Eagles finished the 2009 season with an 18-4-2 record, a new program record, and advanced to the Elite Eight. Boston College finished the 2009 season ranked 7th in the NSCAA poll.
The Eagles will open up the 2010 season at home against No. 2 Stanford on Friday, August 20 at 7 p.m. Stanford leads the head-to-head series, 2-0. Last year, BC and Stanford met in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament as the Cardinal advanced to the Final Four in a 3-1 victory.
