CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team had its annual alumni game on May 2 with 32 former Eagles coming to participate in the event.
Some of the players that made up this group to name a few, were Eagle of the Year recipient Kristen Madden, All- Americans; Bronwen Kelly, Tara Fernandes, Katie Quaglia, Julia Berkowitz, Lauren Shultz and 2009 seniors Caitlin McGovern and Chelsey Feole.
The group played two 25 minute halves, and it capped off an excellent weekend for Boston College field hockey. One of Boston College's all-time great goaltenders, Lauren Hill, opted to not throw on the pads for the day but instead demonstrated some hidden talents as a field player for the game.
"We are thrilled to host the annual Alumi game and post-game reception," Head Coach Ainslee Lamb said. "This continues to be a huge draw for the alums of Boston College Field Hockey. A lot of great memoires were shared by all, and there were still some pretty impressive skills on the field. The evolution of the game and its rules became very apparent with the alums implementing the self-start rule in to the game. They picked up on it quickly."
"The annual event continues to be the premier alumni event for the field hockey program, and it is wonderful to combine the past with the present athletes of BCFH. "
