Men's Tennis Falls In First Round Of ACC Tournament

CARY, N.C. - The Boston College men's tennis team had its season come to an end on Thursday afternoon losing to No. 20 Virginia Tech 4-0 in the first round of the ACC Men's Tennis Championships.
Boston College will finish the 2010 season with an overall record of 10-16, while Virginia Tech moves to 15-6, and will play Georgia Tech in the second round.
The Eagles lost the doubles point losing a close match at the number one position 9-7, and they also fell at the number three doubles spot by a score of 8-1.
In singles play, Boston College was hanging around in the number one and two singles matches as Thomas Nolan and All-ACC member Akash Muppidi were giving the Hokies all they could handle.
However, Virginia Tech swept the singles matches at the three, four and five spots giving them a 4-0 win, and moving them on to the next round.
