The student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) was awarded the Ever to Excel Award from the University's Student Programs Office.
The Ever to Excel Award is given to the group who has made an outstanding contribution to Boston College as an organization.
SAAC is a committee of student-athletes representing each sports team within the Boston College Athletic Department. The SAAC is a bridge linking student-athlete concerns with the BC administration. Along with major community service projects involving multiple teams, the board is called upon to give input on improving student-athlete welfare at Boston College. The SAAC provides vital input on student-athlete support services to all Boston College student-athletes. BC's SAAC aims carry on the Jesuit tradition of service to others.
This past year, SAAC completed over 2500 hours of community service, highlighted with the 2nd annual Student-Athlete Service Immersion trip to the Gulf Coast Region to assist in the rebuilding effort from Hurricane Katrina. SAAC has grown to over 70 members this year representing all of our athletic teams.
SAAC's upcoming initiative to close out the year is the 1st annual SAAC Talent Show. The event will be a variety show featuring performances from most teams and The Flutie Brothers Band, featuring BC great Doug Flutie. For more info on this events click HERE
