Women's Tennis Loses To No. 16 Miami, 7-0

The Boston College women's tennis team wrapped up their spring break trip with a tough conference loss to No. 16 Miami 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Fla.
The loss drops Boston College to 5-7 (1-2 ACC) on the year, while the win improves the Hurricanes to 6-3 (2-0 ACC) for the season.
Boston College hung tough with Miami in singles play starting with senior Brittany Delaney's match.
At the number six singles spot Delaney pushed Miami's Danielle Mills to the limit in a hard-fought 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 loss.
Freshman Alex Kelleher took the number four nationally ranked player in the country, Laura Vallverdu, to a tie-break in the first set but eventually lost 7-6 (1), 6-0.
The Eagles will be off for two weeks before they jump back onto the court on Saturday, March 20 against ACC rival Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. The match will start at 12 p.m.
