The Boston College women's tennis team had no problems in a local non-conference matchup defeating the University of Massachusetts 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Bay Road Tennis Club in Amherst, Mass.
The win improved the Eagles to 4-5 on the season, while the loss drops the Minuteman to 7-2 on the year.
BC started the match with a 1-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
In singles action, freshman Alex Kelleher got the Eagles started with a win at the number one singles position defeating Magdalena Ploch 6-2, 6-3. Kelleher is now 3-3 at number one singles for the season.
Olga Khmylev was involved in the match of the day at the number two singles spot as she lost a heartbreaker in a tight three-setter against Candynce Boney 7-6, 6-7, 10-6.
Senior captain Brittany Delaney also picked up a nice 6-4, 6-2 win for the Eagles as well at the number six singles spot over Jocelyn Providence.
Boston College will now head south for their annual spring break trip. The Eagles will start the trip off against Florida Gulf Coast on Monday, March 1 at 3 p.m.
