The Boston College women's hockey team fell to Boston University 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Walter Brown Arena in Boston, Mass.
The Eagles finish the season 8-17-10 while the Terriers improve to 15-8-12.
The Terriers opened the scoring on a power-play goal at 6:16 of the first period but BC battled through additional pressure to keep the score at 1-0. The Eagles would respond thanks to sophomore Danielle Welch, who managed to whack the puck past the BU keeper off assists from sophomore Kristin Regan and senior Shannon Webster to even the score at one apiece.
The Eagles opened the second period with strong play to try and grab the edge in the contest. BU responded to the Eagles play by scoring a late tally at 17:34 of the period to take a 2-1 lead.
The Terriers would add another goal in the third period to make the game 3-1 and that would be all the scoring.
Sophomore goalie Kiera Kingston recorded 28 saves on the day as the Terriers outshot the Eagles 31-18
