Men's Tennis Falls To No. 18 Florida State 5-2

The Boston College men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought Atlantic Coast Conference matchup to No. 18 Florida State 5-2 on Wednesday at the Hampshire Hills Club in Milford, N.H.
The loss drops Boston College to 1-3 (0-2 ACC) for the season, while the win improves No. 18 Florida State to 6-1 (1-0 ACC) on the year.
Boston College jumped on the Seminoles early as they took the opening doubles point, winning two of the three matches, to take a 1-0 lead.
The number one doubles matchup featured two teams ranked in the top-35 in the nation. Boston College's No. 27 doubles team of Thomas Nolan and Erik Kreutzer pulled out the win over No. 31 Vahid Mirzadeh and Connor Smith 8-3.
Akash Muppidi and Adam Davison picked up the second doubles victory for the Eagles at the number three spot defeating Andres Bucaro and Anderson Reed 8-5.
Muppidi continued his solid play into singles action as he won at the number two spot defeating No. 23 Bowles 7-5, 6-4 to put BC up 2-0 in the match.
Florida State finally got the hang of the very fast indoor courts after that as it won all five of the remaining singles matches to escape with a 5-2 win.
Boston College will take a few days off before returning to the courts on Sunday, February 14 to play an all-new england doubleheader. The Eagles will host Sacred Heart University at 10 a.m., and then take on Boston University at 4 p.m.
