Senior Amy Caldwell and Victoria DiMartino each notched a goal and one assist to lead Boston College past ACC foe Clemson, 3-1, in front of 741 fans on Sunday afternoon at the Newton Soccer Field.

Boston College is now 10-3-1 overall and now 3-3-0 in the ACC, while Clemson is 5-10-0 overall and 0-7-0 in the conference.

DiMartino, who leads the ACC in scoring with 31 points, opened the scoring just eight minutes into the action. DiMartino received the throw in from Amy Caldwell and turned and ripped a left-footed shot into the far post. DiMartino now has an ACC leading 12 goals this season.

Amy Caldwell gave Boston College a 2-0 lead at the 24 minute mark. DiMartino won a 50-50 ball outside the box and chipped it to Caldwell. The Eagles senior received the ball and volleyed it over the Clemson goalkeeper Lauren Arnold's (two saves) hands right under the cross bar. It was Caldwell's third goal of the season.

The Eagles went up 3-0 on a goal off a corner kick. Hannah Cerrone's offering went to the far post where Alyssa Pember headed the ball by a crowd of players into the far corner at the 57 minute mark. It was the junior defenders second goal this season.

Clemson got on the board at the 78 minute mark when Sam Fortner ran onto a through ball from Emily Tatum to cut the Eagles lead to two goals.

Boston College held a 39-5 edge in shots taken and had 15 corner kicks to one. The 39 shots is a season-high and the second most shots taken since 2006, when BC took 41 shots vs. Holy Cross.

Boston College now has a two-game road trip up next. BC will play at Duke on Thursday, October 21 at 7 p.m. followed by a match at Wake Forest on Sunday, October 24 at 1 p.m. ... BC sophomore Kristen Mewis led the offense with 12 shots, while Victoria DiMartino had eight shots ... Junior Stephanie Wirth came off the bench and had three shots.
