The Boston College women's basketball team is now 7-6 on the season. The Eagles are coming off a 1-1 record at the Maggie Dixon Surf `n Slam Tournament in San Diego, California.
Boston College vs. BU
The Eagles and Terriers have played 15 times with BU leading the series, 8-7.
The first game between the two teams took place on Jan. 17, 1978 as BU defeated BC, 70-41. Boston College has won the last four games, including last season's 68-53 victory in the WNIT Tournament.
The Leaders
Boston University is led by freshman Caitlyn Moran who is averaging 15 points a game along with 4.5 rebounds. Sophomore Alex Young is averaging 14.5 points a game, while freshman Chantell Alford is scoring 12.7 points per game.
The Eagles are led by junior center Carolyn Swords with 15.3 points per game average. Swords is averaging 10.3 rebounds a game and has notched three consecutive double-doubles. She now has six this season.
Junior forward Stefanie Murphy is averaging 9.8 points a game and 5.9 rebounds a game. Murphy is shooting 50 percent from the floor and has led the team in scoring four times this season.
Mickel Picco, a senior guard, is the second leading scorer on the roster with 12.1 points per game average. Picco is shooting just 33 percent from the floor but is second on the team in assists (37). The native of Austin, Texas, Picco leads BC in three-point shooting as she has hit 34 this season.
