Stack and Schaus Selected for National Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -Boston College seniors Kelli Stack and Molly Schaus have been named to the 2009-10 United States Women's National Team as announced today by USA Hockey. The two Eagles recently took part in the 2009 Women's National Team festival in Blaine, Minnesota which culminated in the selection of this year's national team.
In 2008-09, Stack was named a Hockey East first team all-star and was picked as the Hockey East Player of the Year. She was also chosen as the Hockey East player of the Month in October and November and was the league scoring champion with 59 points as a junior.
Schaus was named ITECH Goalie of the Month in December and February last season and was chosen as the Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week seven times. She also led the Eagles to the 2009 Beanpot championship and was honored with the Bertagna Award as the Beanpot's Most Outstanding Goalie.
Both women earned RBK/ACHA All-America second-team honors and were selected to the New England Hockey Writers All-Star Team.
The group of 23 players will take part in the Qwest Tour which will begin on September 25 and match the team in 10 different contests leading up to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C. The team will also enter into two international tournaments and play with the Canadian National team on three separate occasions.
