Field Hockey Players Keep Busy During Off-Season

Chestnut Hill, MA - A number of Boston College field hockey players - Chelsey Feole, Jess Roberts, Janna Anctil, Kristine Stigas, Jenny Raftery, Carla Tamer, Emily Kozniuk and Kate Gillis - have been invited by various national training camps to continue playing this summer. Along with the players, the coaching staff head coach Ainslee Lamb and assistant coach Chris Clements will also work this off-season.
Feole and Roberts were both invited to train with the Under-21 team. The two will train from May 28-to-June 2 for the Junior World Cup team, which will play in August at the tournament in Boston. The two will also be members of the New England High Performance team.
Emily Kozniuk and Kate Gillis have just completed training camp with the Canadian National team. The two will travel with the team to Kazan, Russia to pay in the Championship Challenge Tournament.
Anctil, Stigas, Raftery and Tamer will also all take part in the New England High performance training. With Feole and Roberts, the New England squad will boast six Eagles on the roster. The New England High Performance team will compete from June 20-27 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The Eagles coaching staff will also be busy. Head Coach Ainslee Lamb will be the assistant coach for the USA Under-21 team at the Junior World Cup Tournament. The tournament will be in Boston from August 3-16, hosted by Boston College, Harvard and Boston University.
Lamb will defend her title as she will coach the New England High Performance team for the second consecutive summer. Last year, Lamb's team earned the National Championship. She was also the head coach for the Under-18 team at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California.
Lamb's assistant coach at Boston College, Chris Clements will be an association head coach with the New England Performance team this summer. He will also assist the Under-21 New Zealand team at the Junior World Cup in August.
